Pulled Pork Crockpot Recipes - Debate regions of South Sandwich

You sit in a nice little family restaurant in the South. Voices of a few throughout the room. You can say something is hotly debated. Is that rival teams? Policy? Religion? No, nothing more banal than that. We are talking about who has the best slow cooker pulled pork recipes in the South.

There seems no end to this debate. We have to examine a wide range of recipes, including classics such as Memphis-style, Southern style, North Carolina style, South Carolina style. Youll also hear the fans pulled pork in Texas, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Florida, to name a few. It seems that most people in the South say they have the original, official, and the best recipes for these sandwiches in the South, if not the world.

What I found is that no one agrees on who pulled pork recipe belongs formally to the regions. There are literally hundreds if not thousands of these recipes, which can belong to all regions of the south. For so many variations of the sauce and dry rub, you can find, there are as many variations, and several methods of cooking and serving pulled pork sandwich. I will not try to understand what are the ingredients for sauces and dry rubs definitely belong to the regions.

Nor will I attempt to anchor the cooking method that belongs to the region. What I would do is put some common methods of cooking and this sandwich popular, and how these methods are most often found. If a method similar to the original hometown, he is probably ... and it can be someone else! In other words, the debate live. See some of the ingredients and cooking methods that make a pulled pork sandwich, what it is:

Vinegar - You can use white vinegar, apple cider vinegar, red wine vinegar, or any of a variety of vinegars available. The idea of using vinegar, regardless of gender, is the same. Pork sauce is usually a combination of sweet and bitter. Many recipes claim to be official Memphis style pulled pork just because the use of vinegar in the sauce. However, almost all pulled pork sandwich that will house barbecue sauce vinegar as an ingredient, regardless of the region.

Brown Sugar - The barbecue sauces and dry rubs may contain brown sugar, which gives a sweet taste to the whole balance of sweet and salty is a pulled pork sandwich should be. A simple concoction of brown sugar, vinegar and a dash of hot sauce or any spicy seasonings are often found in barbecue places in Florida and Alabama. That this simple recipe tribes in these countries is something we will never know. I can not say Ive never seen a pulled pork sandwich seasoned like this in Memphis, but that does not mean that it is not there.

Dry rubs - Although dry rubs have always existed, and used in all regions of the country, a dry friction used for pulled pork sandwich contains some standard ingredients. You basically find cayenne pepper, black pepper, salt and paprika in a dry friction for pulled pork. Any added after that is a leader unique individual on this basic recipe. Different regions of the country can claim to only use dry rubs, barbecue sauce ever liquid, but this method is so widespread that it seems impossible to identify the original creator. Then of course you can use both a dry rub and barbecue sauce, so it becomes a little confused.

Condiments - BBQ sauce as a condiment is widely recognized as a standard in each region. Even when pulled pork never gets a dose of barbecue sauce mixed with it, theres usually a bottle on the table. Youll also usually find vinegar pepper, mustard, and even a little Tabasco in most regions. What you will hopefully never find the ketchup on the table. It would not be very good in a region. One thing many of us believe is to add coleslaw on top of a pulled pork sandwich is certainly a key Memphis.

Cooking Methods - This is not easy to define a way to cook any State or region. Grilling, smoking, stew, roast, or are not rare in any area. But smoking or slow roasting pits have been the preferred method for many of our settlers in the campaign, and now their ancestors can still use the same methods the same. It is always difficult to test a method belongs to a particular region. While Memphis is famous for its smoked pit barbecue, you can find these graves the same throughout the south. Of course, use your slow cooker is an ancient method, if the origin of this method is widely used.

When I searched the wide range of recipes slow cooker pulled pork in cookbooks and the Internet, I am more and more confused. I guess Ill just say, if your grandfather or grand mother made the same recipe for pulled pork sandwiches, as you may recall, if this recipe is for your family and your region. Go ahead and claim your right and enjoy this classic South.
