Pulled pork crockpot recipes - Debate regions of South Sandwich

Youre sitting in a nice little family restaurant somewhere in the South. Voices rise a little in the room. You can say something is the subject of heated debate. Do opposing teams? Policy? Religion? No, nothing more banal than that. We are talking about who has the best pulled pork crockpot recipes in the South.

There seems no end to this debate. We have to examine a wide range of recipes, including classics such as Memphis-style, style, South Carolina and North Carolina-style Southern style. Also listen for fans of pork from Texas, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Florida, to name a few. It seems more people from the South say they have the original official, and the best recipes for these sandwiches in the South, but the world.

What I have noticed that no one takes a recipe of pulled pork which formally belongs to the region. There are literally hundreds if not thousands of recipes that can include anywhere else in the south. So many variations in Dry rubs and sauce can be found, and there are many more variations of the methods of cooking and serve the pulled pork sandwiches. Not find out what are the ingredients for sauces and dry rubs are surely in what area. Nor do I determine what effort is a method of cooking in the region.

What Im doing is to set some common methods to cook and serve this popular sandwich, and suggests that these methods are in general. If this method sounds like the original hometown, its probably ... as if it were someone else! In other words, the debate live. See if some components and manufacturing methods that make pulled pork sandwiches, what it is:

Vinegar - You can use white vinegar, vinegar, cider, red wine vinegar, or any of a variety of vinegars available. The idea is to use vinegar, no matter what is the same. Sauce for the pulled pork is typically sweet and sour mix. Many recipes claim to be the official style of Memphis pulled pork separately, because they use vinegar in their sauce. However, only about a sandwich of pulled pork with barbecue sauce is the house vinegar as an ingredient in any area.

Brown Sugar - barbecue sauces and rubs dry may contain brown sugar, which give a sweet taste to the whole balance of sweet and salty as a pork sandwich should be shredded. A simple mixture of sugar, vinegar and a pinch of hot sauce or spicy seasonings are often found in places barbecue in Florida and Alabama. What this simple recipe tribes in these states is something we will never know. I can not say Ive never seen a pulled pork sandwich seasoned as Memphis, but that does not mean it is not there.

DRY Rubs - Despite always dry rubs, and used in all areas of dry pulled pork sandwich contains some standard components. You basically find the cayenne, black pepper, salt, pepper and dry rub for pulled pork. All added after the cook has a single one to take this basic recipe. Across the country can try to use only a dry massage, barbecue sauce is liquid, but this method is so widespread that it seems impossible to identify the original creator. Then, of course, you can use either a dry massage and barbecue sauce, which becomes only more confusion.

Spice - BBQ sauce as a condiment is widely recognized as a standard in each region. Even when pulled pork ever dose of barbecue sauce mixed with it, there is usually a bottle on the table. Youll also generally find vinegar pepper, mustard, and even a little Tabasco in most regions. What you will hopefully never find the ketchup on the table. It would not go and in a region. Something many of us believe that coleslaw add on top of a pulled pork sandwich was certainly a key Memphis.

production methods - is not easy to explain the method for cooking a country or region. Grilling, smoking, roasting or braising is not unusual for any area. But pit smoke or slow roasting is the preferred method should be that many immigrants in the country, and now their ancestors can still use exactly the same methods. And still difficult to demonstrate a method in a particular region. Although Memphis is known for its smoky barbecue area, you will find the same around the mines to the south. Naturally, you use the crockpot is an old method, so the origin, this method is clearly general.

While looking at the wide range of recipes based cookbook on pork in slow cooker and the Internet, I am more and more confusing. I think I'll just say, if your grandmother or grandfather made the same recipe for pulled pork sandwiches, as they can remember, while the recipe belongs to his family and his region. Go ahead and stake your claim and enjoy this classic South.
