You&ve already seen the cartoons of Popeye Sailor Mon? All on his own, could do much Popeye. He could walk and talk and sing and smoke his pipe. But when it came time to face his enemy, Brutus, Popeye just was not the task.

Only when he ate his spinach. And suddenly, a good old Popeye do even more than before. This is when things always exciting, and suddenly, handling Brutus was no problem.

This is what the plug-ins are similar. As Popeye on his own, a browser can do a lot. It can display Web pages and work with the special language such as Javascript. But when it comes time to deal with other special things like audio or video or Flash content, or Portable Document Format (PDF) and, browsers are often not up to par.

First, they are equipped with some plug-ins, that is. And suddenly your old browser to do even more than before. It was then that the Internet can become even more exciting.

You see, the plug-in are like small pieces of software that runs in your browser, so that it can seem even more varied content than just a website, pure and simple. Unlike Popeye's spinach, plug-ins are usually available free of charge. How to become plug-ins are free? Since the money can be made by selling the software that creates content that the plug-in. For example, makes a program called Macromedia Flash. You must purchase the software to make Flash-based content that can be put on the Internet. But some view the Flash-based content, they need to go to the Macromedia site and download the Flash plug-in. Then their browser capable of displaying Flash content. And because Adobe wants to sell most of their software developers to Flash, a plug-in are free to the public so that it is easy to see the Flash-based content.

And that's why the plug-ins are like spinach to Popeye.
