Crowd cooking? Need a large number of recipes? Why not create your own?

It is often difficult to find just the right recipe for a large number of theme party or flavors you wish to offer guests. Here are some tips and tricks on how to modify your favorite 4-6 serving recipes when you find cooking a number of 20 or more.

What does a crowd? Of course it's all relative (family, not mine). Seriously, if you're used to cook for 1-3, 20-50 people cooking can seem overwhelming. During cooking, the result, there are three important aspects, sufficient enough space for refrigerated container, and the selection of recipes.

Apparently, you should look for recipes geared to feeding the crowd. It is often easy to find a large number of recipes for dishes such as lasagna and mashed potatoes. But what if you have heart up with your favorite 4-serving recipe for corn and beans blacks Polenta for a party in 1925?

Even experienced cooks, the recipe has changed a large amount kitchen is not just a matter of endless multiplications. If you expand a recipe too much - you are bound to run into trouble and ultimately out of wine tasting or a little spicy dish.

For a basic dish like mashed potatoes, would be acceptable to tell all the ingredients in a recipe serving four to two, enjoyed the recipe to serve 8 However, the recipes do not extend (or shrink for that matter) and by changing the recipe for 2-4 times longer than is recommended.

You can also use recipe converters which are easily found online. Converters, however, simply do the math , multiplying each ingredient amount of increase in the number of servings you enter the drive. It does not take into consideration as a bitter taste or consistency of ingredients. If a 4-serving recipe calls for 1 tablespoon chopped rosemary and you want to triple the recipe to serve 12, 3 tablespoons of rosemary will probably overwhelm all the other flavors and spices in the pot.

It good to be cautious multiplying ingredients like salt, flour, cornstarch, eggs, fish, meats, robust herbs, oils, onions, garlic, celery and bell pepper. Some of the ingredients have been enough to spread the taste, texture or body when only increased accordingly. In addition, some of these substances can add a bit at a time when there are constantly taste.

What if you want to serve 25 people in the not-so-simple recipe ingredients you need 4-many? Doubling or tripling more complex recipes could get complicated. One way is to cook batches. Batch cooking requires planning ahead and cooking in advance. It can also mean the freezing of prepared dishes. It also the question of doing the math.

To serve 25 with a 4-recipe service you cook 5-6 different batches of this recipe, or you can expand the recipe (no more than 2-4 times) and cook in batches accordingly. For example serves to 25 from a recipe from 4-service, double the recipe to cook for 8 and three or triple batches and cook two batches. To serve 18 with a 6-serving recipe, cook three times or cook one 6-lot service and a lot that has been doubled to meet the 12 You get the idea.

It's almost impossible to double or triple the recipe of cakes, biscuits, sweet dough, or breads, without meeting a complete disaster. That chemistry thing. Instead, prepare a single game, until you have enough food for guests. Again, cooking in advance is essential. It is likely that you can double or triple the ingredients for individual recipes for appetizers like stuffed mushrooms or crostini, and snack mixes, dips, sauces, punches, one serving-size pieces of natural meat, poultry or fish, tossed salads, pasta salads and vegetables.

If you are cooking for a group of 25 or more, you will most likely serve as a buffet. He is the best way to serve large crowds. In a buffet of dishes from many people will have smaller portions of each to try everything. In addition, it shows around the world every dish. This means that each dish is prepared does not have to serve 25. Just prepare some dishes in large quantities. Look for recipes that serve 8-12 and the double (or not).

With a calculator and an ingredient little knowledge, you can easily convert most recipes of the party and present a tantalizing menu for your guests.

Have fun!
